The new season is set in the perfectly named Charming Street, in Melbourne’s Hampton East.

For the first time in over ten years, the three esteemed judges will be joined by a fresh face. Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Neale Whitaker are joined by WHITEFOX CEO and real estate guru Marty Fox.
The Blockheads will make over five houses built and designed in the 1950s. With the original furnishings and structures still in place, they’ll be confronted and challenged by all sorts of unexpected twists, which come with renovating 70 year old homes!

From our first meeting with everyone from Gordon King Construction (GKC) we knew we’d made the right choice. From week one at house one it was a collaboration of their experience and knowledge and our vision.
There was a constant drive to achieve outcomes that were challenging from a build perspective all under the watchful eyes of tv cameras. Over the 12 week build we met many of GKC’s carpenters/labourers. They all showed up with amazing attitudes and willingness to work efficiently and effectively.
Overall House 1 on the Block 2023 is a fine example of what GKC are capable of producing in the pressure cooker environment that is The Block. We are constantly commended on the level of craftsmanship and architectural detail put into the home. Rob and Wilson were always honest and transparent about what was and wasn’t achievable. And what we appreciated the most was how willing they were to try and provide solutions or ideas to attain our goals and vision for the home. “
When you have a builder that is as invested in your build as you are it makes the whole journey/process much more enjoyable. It was such a honor for us to have the GKC team onboard for this experience. To look at the finished product and know how much care and effort went into each room each week. How much banter and laughs were had each week. I know all those good vibes have blessed that house with a calming presence that I hope any future owner feels.
